Pool Opening & Closing Guide
Seasonal pool care works best when the steps happen in the right order. Opening begins with inspection, cleaning, circulation and testing. Closing begins with clean, balanced water and a plan to protect the equipment and water through the off-season.

Opening: restore the system before chasing chemistry
Remove winter debris, inspect equipment, restore the correct water level and get circulation working. Once the system is operating, test the water and correct problems in a deliberate order. This gives each treatment a functioning filtration system to work with.
Closing: protect clean water, not neglected water
Closing products are not a substitute for cleaning and balancing the pool. Remove debris, correct important water issues and follow your equipment manufacturer's winterization procedure before the pool is left for the off-season.
