Hot tub and jetted-tub plumbing can hold residue in lines that normal surface cleaning never reaches. A line-flush or jet-cleaning treatment is designed to loosen that internal buildup before the old water is drained away.

When to clean the plumbing

Follow your spa manufacturer's maintenance schedule. A line clean is also worth considering when you see residue from the jets, persistent waterline buildup or contamination that returns quickly after ordinary cleaning.

Typical cleaning sequence

1. Follow the cleaner label and spa manufacturer's directions.
2. Add the line or jet cleaner before draining.
3. Run the jets or circulation for the specified time.
4. Drain the old water.
5. Rinse and clean the shell as directed.
6. Refill and restart the normal water-care routine.
