Chlorine vs Bromine in Pools and Hot Tubs
Chlorine and bromine are both common sanitizers, but they are not interchangeable in every system. Pools are commonly maintained with chlorine, while many hot tub owners use either chlorine or bromine depending on the spa setup and personal preference.
Your test strips or test kit must be able to measure the sanitizer you actually use. Follow the sanitizer label and the equipment manufacturer's guidance for the target range and dosing procedure.
Do not add one sanitizer simply because a strip shows a low reading for another. Know which system your water is using first.
